If you’re reading this, I bet you’re the kind of person who wants to be doing the right thing, environmentally, but maybe you don’t always know how. There are so many skills, and many of them have been lost down the years. Come along to the Know How Festival, which aims to be a light, fun day but with a serious purpose; you can pick up skills and info that you need to live sustainably.
First things first, this is not a day aimed at sandal-wearing, vegan ‘greenies’. Nope. This is aimed at busy local people who just want to know a little more about how to do things like mending a puncture, fixing a zip, growing their own food, or doing work on their house to cut the bills. You can come along, have a slice of cake or a beer, and walk around the many stalls and skills sessions, stopping at the ones that interest you. Solar panels? Electric cars? Compost bins? Butterfly-friendly plants? Cutting food waste? Whatever your area of interest, there will be something for you here. There is a programme of short films to watch. Plus there are activities for the kids, and free refreshments for them too, so everyone is catered for.
If you want, you can arrive by bike, straight through the gate from the Alban Way, or the main entrance is on the Hatfield Road.
