St Albans Green Party are holding an open public meeting about the future of housing and homes in the district as part of Sustainable St Albans Week. A panel of expert speakers from Shelter, the Community Land Trust and The Passivhaus Organisation will talk about affordable housing and tackling homelessness, and how we can develop in sustainable ways. There will be lots of time for questions and open discussion. After the event, we’ll share and publish the ideas that are put forward.
This meeting is especially timely given what is happening around the district. Lack of affordable housing is an urgent problem affecting many people. There are pressures for new housing developments but also concerns about how many new homes will be genuinely affordable and what the impact will be on the environment and local communities. Find out how we in St Albans can tackle these issues and develop sustainably. This is a public event – all are welcome.
The meeting will be held on Wed 25th April, 8-10pm at Marlborough Methodist Church, Marlborough Rd, St Albans which is fully accessible. There will be delicious vegan refreshments and entrance is free.
