Sustainable St Albans Week 2018 couldn’t operate without the support of so many local organisations. In the run up to the week we thought we’d take this opportunity to focus on each of our sponsors.
Today’s spotlight falls on Green Energy UK, one of our Gold Sponsors. All Green Energy UK’s tariffs use 100% renewable energy and 100% green gas. Using the power of falling water, the sun, the wind, and organic waste material, they provide energy that is 100% renewable.
Not only are their tariffs renewable, but they help to clean up and make use of waste products. Some of their generators even use pig poo, skip waste and used chip fat to make electricity!
“We‘re a bit different from other energy suppliers. We challenge the idea that ‘sustainability’ is all about making a big commitment, about making an extra effort, and paying extra costs.
Indeed, businesses often talk about sustainability as an ‘alternative’. On the contrary, sustainability makes sense for everyone, and we want to make it mainstream. That’s why we’re proudly sponsoring Sustainable St Albans Week from 21st – 29th April 2018.
We’re the only energy provider that supplies 100% Renewable Electricity AND 100% Green Gas; so our commitment is there to see.
But, our prices are competitive not only within the green market, but also the entire utilities industry. By minimising the cost and effort it takes to switch, we aim to remove all obstacles to going green for your energy
Put simply: we do care about the environment, but we are not idealists with our heads in the clouds. We are down to earth, in every sense. If through our sponsorship we can get more people thinking sustainably, we can all make the world a better place.” Doug Stewart, CEO for Green Energy UK.
