Sustainable St Albans Week 2018 couldn’t operate without the support of so many local organisations. We thought we’d take this opportunity to focus on each of our sponsors, in the run up to the week. Today’s spotlight falls on JPA Furniture and Lyndhurst Financial Management, two of our Gold Sponsors.
Established in 1974, JPA Furniture specialises in the contract furniture market; and works closely with clients on the design, specification and creation of innovative, collaborative and engaging spaces for a wide range of sectors. As an independent family firm, now into the second generation of family ownership, JPA Furniture is continually seeking to drive the business forward in line with the ever-changing demands of the 21st Century.
JPA Furniture’s vision is to partner with their Clients and all elements of the supply chain, working collaboratively to deliver a Circular Economy model, and to drive innovation in the way contract furniture and contract furniture services are provided. Their passion for sustainability in all aspects of their operation is their primary driver with their business model developed around the three key pillars of social, economic and environmental sustainability.
The Methodist Church Pew Project – all because of Sustainable St Albans
A chance meeting at Sustainable St Albans week 2016 brought JPA Furniture
into contact with Marlborough Road Methodist Church, which in turn led to the Pews to Go 2017 project as part of a grand refurbishment scheme. The 27 beautiful oak and elm pews dating from 1815 had to be cleared in order to make way for newer, more flexible seating which would allow the building to become a community multi-space venue.
JPA Furniture volunteered to try and find second homes for ALL 27 pews locally, donating all administrative, marketing, transport and warehousing costs, in order that any monies raised could contribute directly to the refurbishment, and, making the whole process easier for prospective purchasers. Meanwhile, the church took care of taking the pews up and promoting internally and via social media.

Founded in 1992 Lyndhurst Financial Management has grown to become one of the leading independent financial planning and advisory firms in Hertfordshire. They help clients at all stages of their financial journey, their highly qualified team work to achieve the clients’ financial goals in life.
They provide the financial planning advice you want, the way you want it. In a time-poor world we are all increasingly stretched in many directions; carefully balancing business, family and social commitment. These demands can get in the way of setting time aside to consider our future objectives and what is required to ensure they are achieved. Recognising this and helping bridge the gap between time available and knowledge of the appropriate planning options is their strength.
By focusing on your unique situation and the specific objectives you have, by embracing every aspect of financial planning, Lyndhurst Financial Management help you make better financial decisions reflecting both the lifestyle you want to lead and the legacy you want to leave behind.
Since 1992 they have developed their business with one goal in mind, to profitably help clients achieve their objectives by advising them across a whole range of different areas that are either immediately relevant today or will be at some point in the future. Their team of 20 based in Harpenden and Hitchin recognise that no two clients are the same, neither are the solutions put forward. And they ensure that the very best generalist and specialist expertise is built in to all of them.
