Sustainable St Albans launches new website

Carbon footprint of our newly designed website is 20% of our old site!

After months of hard work and dedication from our volunteer team, we are delighted to officially
announce the launch of our new website. Offering improved user navigation to access advice, case studies and trusted solutions to reduce your impact on the environment for visitors in St Albans district and beyond whether you’re thinking of your life in business, school, group or at home.

As the leading Sustainability Charity in St Albans, our previous website did not support our low
carbon practises, producing 1.68g of CO2 every time someone visited it. Our new streamlined structure and content reduces this figure to 0.34g of CO2 for every visit: just 20% of the previous figure.

The Trustee with responsibility for Communications & Community Engagement, Helen Burridge commented “We started this project with the intention of not only updating and refreshing the look and feel of our website, but also to enhance the user experience for anyone visiting the site and to lower the environmental impact. The new site makes it easier to find the information that is important to our site visitors, all of which now look great whether you’re viewing on a desktop, tablet or smartphone. By using fewer images we have reduced our carbon footprint and made the site more accessible too for all people, regardless of their specific needs.”

Our goal with this website is to provide our valued community an easier way to learn about Sustainable St Albans and what we can all do to reduce our impact on the district and the planet. The new website will give better access to Advice, Events and Our Blog on topics including case studies and community achievements. Sustainable St Albans invites visitors to explore the new website which is now live, and share any feedback they may have.
