About the 2019 Sustainability Festival

Sat 11th May – Sat 1st June 2019

3 weeks of sustainability events across
St Albans, Harpenden and the villages

It’s our district – we love it! And we want to make it sustainable
for generations to come.

The Sustainability Festival 2019, aka #SustFest19, was a hugely successful 3 week festival.

Community groups, business, faith groups and schools  offered over 160 of events on the theme of sustainability and the environment. Most were open to the public; some were private events, such as  the 30 schools’ projects.

A key event of #SustFest19 was the Market Takeover on 19th May which saw the Sustainability Festival take over the whole of St Albans Market with stalls, food and music.

The entire festival was organised by the charity Sustainable St Albans working in partnership with St Albans Friends of the Earth. It was the fourth year this highly successful and award-winning Sustainability event has taken place, following on from previous Sustainable St Albans Weeks.

The festival was enormously grateful to its Funders and Sponsors as well as to all of the Supporters that ran events or promoted it.
