Faith Groups
In addition to events in the public programme, many faith groups are running events for their own members:

Voluntary/Community Groups
Lots of voluntary and community groups across the District are busy planning events for their members during Sustainable St Albans Week. Some examples are listed below. Why not plan something for your own group during the week. We’d love to hear about it if you do!
Earthworks St Albans: Christmas Crafts Making
Our members will be making crafts from wood collected from our site. Crafts include reindeer and other Christmas goods. We will be using wood and other materials found on our site. We will be working in our stunning sustainably sourced oak building which is powered by solar lighting and heated by a wood burning stove.
Mind in mid-Herts: We are making posters, to advertise Sustainable St Albans Week using the backs of old banners. We will be theming our support groups that week (Art, Craft etc ) around recycling and reusing . In addition we will be relaunching our reviewed Environmental Policy.
Woodcraft Folk: Span the World, Sustainably
Debate and games around travel and cultural curiosity, versus sustainability and climate change. Big world versus small world.

4th St Albans Beavers: Litter pick near the Scout hut

Businesses
Many businesses are running Public Events, as listed in the Public Programme. Some local businesses are undertaking internal activities for their own staff. Some examples are listed below. Why not think about doing something similar? There are lots of other ideas on our website.
AECOM : Internal staff training on sustainability
Atlas Translations Ltd: Week of Events in the Office: Meat-Free Monday, Clothes Donation to local charities, staff members chipping in to buy plants for the office
JPA Furniture: 100 Chair Challenge: JPA collects surplus chairs from local businesses for redistribution to local charities and groups
Kingston Smith: Week of Events in the Office: Walk/cycle to work week, Ban the bag competition. Kingston Smith staff will raise awareness of sustainable issues by taking part in health, waste and fossil fuel initiatives
Green Triangle: Joint networking event with the St Albans City and District Chamber of Commerce and The Hertfordshire Business Independent
