Open Food Garden

August 5 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Explore the fruit and veg grown in St Albans, Harpenden and the villages. Tips, advice & inspiration for growing your own.

This is a large 1/3 acre garden. Besides lawn, shrubs, a large copper beech and a range of other plants, there are many features of interest to those wishing to grow food. Fruit trees are scattered around the back garden, including apples, quince and pears, plus soft fruits and rhubarb. There are a few perennial vegetables such as seakale, two other perennial kales and a bed of other perennial greens such as sea beet and different varieties of sorrel. Herbs include English mace, winter savory and hyssop, (perennial) and parsley. Raised beds contain climbing beans, courgettes and flowers for cutting.

Ample parking available for three hours only (very strict) in the Quadrant car park when something is bought from one of the shops.

Drop in – no booking required.
