On Saturday 24 October, more than 60 charities and community organisations from across St Albans and the surrounding area will come together in the magnificent Nave of St Albans Cathedral for the St Albans Community Showcase.

The Showcase is a chance to discover the extraordinary range of organisations working on our doorstep: supporting people through difficult times, protecting our environment, championing social justice, improving health and wellbeing, creating opportunities for young people, bringing people together through arts, culture and sport, and much more.

But this year, we’re also celebrating something increasingly important: the power of community itself.

Strong communities are built through thousands of everyday connections – knowing the people around us, joining a group, volunteering, sharing an interest, supporting someone who needs help or simply finding somewhere we feel we belong. Community organisations create many of those connections, helping to make the places where we live stronger, kinder and less isolated.

The Community Showcase brings those organisations together under one roof.

Come and wander through the Nave, meet the people behind them and hear their stories. You might discover a cause you’d like to support, a volunteering opportunity that uses your skills, an activity you’d love to try, or simply a new way to connect with your community.

And if you’re already involved in a local organisation, the Showcase is an opportunity to meet others, exchange ideas, make new connections and celebrate everything our voluntary and community sector contributes to life in and around St Albans.

Everyone is welcome and admission is completely free. No tickets, no booking – just come along, explore and see where it takes you.
