Notice: 2022 Sustainable St Albans AGM

Date: 7:30pm on Tuesday 6 December at Friends Meeting House, 7 Upper Lattimore Road, St Albans AL1 3UD. Registration is via Eventbrite.

Introduction

Come and join us for our fifth AGM for an update on our activities during the past financial year and a look at what the next year holds for the District.

Sustainable St Albans, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, with registered number 1173118, is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Two trustees, Dan Fletcher and Catherine Ross, are retiring at the AGM.

Dan was a founding trustee but is standing down because he is leaving the District. Dan has placed his professional fundraising skills at our disposal throughout, helping to ensure that we have the financial wherewithal to carry out our work, and most recently has been chairing the events group and the trustees’ governance meetings.

Catherine was one of the founding trustees and before that she was for a long time a member of the steering group of our predecessor organisation, Transition St Albans. Catherine is standing down in the spirit of renewal. She has been central to much of our work and has made a prodigious contribution to the charity, perhaps most importantly as chair of the organising committee of the first four Sustainability Festivals. She has most recently been chairing the trustees’ projects meetings and representing us in our various interactions with the Council.

AGM 2019

Notice: 2019 Sustainable St Albans AGM

Date: 7pm Thursday 19th Sept 2019 at Abbey Theatre, Club Room, Westminster Lodge, Holywell Hill, St Albans AL1 2DL

Introduction

Come and join us for an evening of conversation, networking, speakers and refreshments – we’d love to see you! Refreshments available from 7pm.

Sustainable St Albans, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, with registered number 1173118, is holding its second AGM.

Sustainable St Albans (the charity) is the successor organisation to Transition St Albans (TSA, or the association).  TSA continues to exist alongside the charity, with TSA winding down and completing its activities and the charity taking responsibility only for activities that have commenced in their entirety since January 2018.  The year to 31 March 2019 is therefore the first full year of activity for the charity.

Those of the founding trustees of the charity that remain were previously and are still the “steering group” of the association.  The steering group has the authority and intention to dissolve TSA as soon as is reasonably possible.  Any residual assets will be transferred to the charity, but, for practical purposes, TSA funds continue to be applied to activities that take place during this period of parallel existence.

The TSA AGM will be held immediately before the Sustainable St Albans AGM; the Sustainable St Albans AGM will comprise the main purpose of the evening.

Agenda

  1. Review of the year

This will address the period since our last AGM, in September 2018.

  1. Presentation of the accounts

Please see accounts attached in the Sustainable St Albans Annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2019 SSA Annual Revew 2018-19 FINAL

  1. Trustee re-elections

  • A resolution will be proposed that Daniel Fletcher be re-elected as a Trustee
  • A resolution will be proposed that Gail Jackson be re-elected as a Trustee
