Bokashi Composting Workshop

Join us for a hands-on Bokashi Composting Workshop, where you’ll learn all about turning food scraps into nutrient-rich soil for your plants!
Developed in Japan, bokashi composting is all about fermenting food waste to supercharge it with beneficial microbes. Your fermented waste turns into rich compost, which you spread onto soil, helping to grow nutrient-packed food full of microbial goodness!
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to create your own bokashi compost, understand the benefits of bokashi composting, and explore different ways to use your compost on your plants. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, or just starting out, this workshop is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and connect with like-minded individuals over a cup of something warm.
This workshop is being held in support of SustFest ’25, under the theme of ‘Travel & Transport’. By adopting bokashi composting for our food waste, we can significantly reduce the need for waste collection vehicles on our roads โ a small change with the potential for a profound impact on local transport emissions and sustainability.
