Discovering Where the Wild Things Are!

May 14, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
£6 – £10

Hertfordshire Natural History Society (HNHS) is celebrating 150 years of promoting wildlife recording by volunteers. In this talk at St Albans Museum + Galleries, David Utting (the HNHS Secretary), will contrast the passions and pursuits of county natural historians before the First World War with the contribution that their 21st century counterparts make towards protecting the natural world.

David will introduce some great (and occasionally eccentric) figures from the Society’s Victorian past, considering how their scientific curiosity paved the way for modern ways of recognising change and the exceptional challenges confronting our environment today.

You can hear the talk in-person or online.

The talk is linked to ‘Wild About Hertfordshire’, the HNHS 150th anniversary exhibition, which is open daily at St Albans Museum + Galleries until Sunday 6 July.
