Passivhaus
Passivhaus buildings provide a 75% reduction in space heating requirements, compared to standard practice for UK new builds. The Passivhaus standard therefore offers a solid method to help the industry achieve the 80% carbon reductions that are set as a legislative target for the UK Government.
Sustainable St Albans volunteer Linda, with her husband, commissioned a Passivhaus Plus house and moved in just before lockdown in spring 2020. Linda has produced a document to explain the standard and why they like living in a Passivhaus for the Sustainable St Albans Eco Homes event October 2020.
