The OPOF Environment Book Club launched with 7 founder members on 14th November 2023!
The launch book was Letters to the Earth – Writing to a Planet in Crisis introduced by Emma Thompson. The book club has been set up to provide opportunities to learn about and discuss environmental issues from different viewpoints.
The Our Planet Our Future Book Club is going to meet in pubs in Harpenden on Thursday evenings five times a year, from 7.30-9.30pm. The group has chosen books which we are very much looking forward to reading and discussing at the next three meetings:
15 Feb 2024
Rob Hopkins
From What is to what if. Unleashing the power of imagination to create the future we want.
18 Apr 2024
Simon Sharpe
Five times faster. Rethinking the science, economics, and diplomacy of climate change.
20 Jun 2024
George Monbiot
Regenesis. Feeding the world without devouring the planet
We encourage members to obtain books from the library (or borrow box), charity shops, or second-hand bookshops.
