Our volunteers
These are the people who make things happen – meet a few of our wonderful volunteers here…

Judith Leary-Joyce – Thermal Imaging Camera Volunteer
Judith has been concerned about the environment since the early 1970′ s and has always strived to do all she can to promote sustainable behavioural change, especially in cleaning up her own act. Having learned a lot along the way Judith is now a self taught eco-renovator and is committed to helping others with their journey towards low energy living. Judith is also a St Albans Thermal Imaging Camera Volunteer.

Martin Malcolm-Brown – member of the Harpenden Sustainability Market and Our Planet Our Future organising groups
Martin Malcolm-Brown is a well known face at Sustainable St Albans events. He generously volunteers his time at the Harpenden Sustainability Markets, Our Planet Our Future talks and debates. By day, Martin can be found working as a salesperson and retail supervisor.

Philip Nalpanis – Newsletter Editor and Membership Secretary
Philip has had an interest in environmental issues since his mid-teens; having done postgraduate research in meteorology he has some understanding of the physics behind climate change and hence has taken a particular interest in this. In the last few years he has been involved with Sustainable St Albans, editing their monthly newsletter and maintaining its membership register. Through this and his involvement with A Rocha, a Christian conservation and environmental charity, he has gained a wider appreciation of current environmental challenges. As a member of St Paul’s church, St Albans, he is encouraging the church and its members to live more sustainably.
Our events and project teams
Our work wouldn’t happen without enthusiastic, energetic and willing volunteers, sharing their time, interests and skills with the community to help us all move towards a more sustainable district. New friendships and experiences abound: why don’t you get in touch to see how you can get involved too?
