Sustainability Market – Meet the Stallholder Mighty Eve

Mighty Eve is on a mission to empower everyone who menstruates with stylish, affordable, comfortable, and sustainable period products that work for modern life. Pop along to the next Harpenden Sustainable Market on the 14th of September to discover their washable pads, period pants, and unique intelligent wash-clutch bag.

18 million people menstruate in the UK alone. 4.3 billion menstrual products are used annually, the majority of which are disposable. Not only do these uncomfortable, crinkly, leaky plastic products end up in landfill, most menstruating people put up with them through habit rather than preference.

Mighty Eve’s founders realised there was a pressing need for practical, affordable and comfortable sustainable period care that would appeal to the mainstream market – and not just sustainability-minded folks.

Mighty Eve will be joining the market fresh off their brand launch on the 1st of September. Along with its range of washable pads and pants, Mighty Eve makes it easier for menstruating people to use sustainable products, selling its discreet, odourless washbag with two compartments to separate clean and used pads.

Co-founder, CEO and lead developer Sara Llewellyn has over 21 years of business experience, including directing Hartley Voices in the entertainment industry. Her expertise managing and problem-solving across a wide spectrum of business challenges makes her an invaluable leader for a company with the potential to scale nationally – and eventually internationally.

Along with its market-leading sustainable period products, Mighty Eve is passionate about helping menstruating individuals feel their most fiercely fabulous selves every day of the month. Spreading a message of empowerment and inclusivity, the company is committed to promoting body positivity, fighting period stigma, and tackling period poverty. They believe that when people feel empowered, they can show up and shine in their best light.

Their best eco tip? You don’t need to give up the things you love. Just reimagine them in a way that works for your lifestyle and our planet!

The team is excited to be part of the next Harpenden Sustainability Market. If you pass their stall on the 14th of September don’t be shy – they’d love to meet you and hear your thoughts on their products and any challenges you face surrounding period care.

And while you’re there, don’t miss upcycled garment brand Shoddy Threads. The Mighty Eve team says they’re ‘a fantastic young business that encourages upcycling of used clothes to give them a new, stylish life. They inspire young people to think twice about their favourite well-loved threads and inspire and empower them to rethink and re-envision rather than waste.

Check out Mighty Eve’s website or connect with them on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X or LinkedIn.

Join us at the next Sustainability Market on September 14th to discover Mighty Eve, Shoddy Threads, and other local eco and food stalls that champion a sustainable lifestyle. See the full schedule of dates here.
